How everything started
Q: How did the business begin?
Ana: “We came here in 2014, and my background is in running a business in Venezuela. I had a restaurant there, but it was very demanding because you have to work 24 hours. When we moved here, we wanted something less stressful, so we started a family-oriented business providing healthy meals for schools. It’s run by my sister, brother, and myself, and we each handle specific areas.”
Q: What do you think made Luncheras Di Si successful as a business?
Ana: “We are local, we are fresh food, and we’re different because we make everything from scratch, unlike competitors who use pre-made or pre-packaged food. We’re also flexible and work closely with schools to meet their needs. Helping the community and staying connected with our partners has been a big part of our success.”
Q: When was your proudest moment?
Ana: “I think the proudest moment is seeing how we’ve grown from a small kitchen serving two or three schools to delivering around 6,000 meals daily to 15 schools. Watching this evolution over the past 10 years, and how we’ve improved while staying focused on doing our best, is incredibly rewarding.”
