Q: How did the business begin?
Christian: “The business started when my brother and I, both pastry chefs, decided we wanted more time together. We took a leap, starting at a local farmers market in Hollywood, Florida. The rent was $350 a month, and I remember thinking, “If we can just make that back, we’ll be okay.” But on the first day, we made $2,000. From there, it just kept growing, as we listened to what customers wanted.”
Q: What do you think made Dbakers successful as a business?
Christian: “Our success comes down to quality and speed. We offer high-quality cakes with next-day delivery or pickup—something most bakeries can’t manage because they lack the space or the staff. Plus, we stick to what people want. While we’ve tried adventurous flavors, customers love basics like Nutella vanilla. It’s all about understanding our customers and being consistent.”
Q: When was your proudest moment?
Christian: “Honestly, I don’t think there’s been one specific proud moment. For me, it’s being able to pay my team and knowing we’ve built something solid. I’m a perfectionist, so I’m never fully satisfied, but I’m grateful for where we are.”
