Did you know?
All of GrandTen products are produced in very small batches and distilled in copper. Every step, from choosing the raw ingredients to bottling and labeling, is done by hand.
In 2008, I began my MBA at Babson College. I chose Babson because the MBA program was focused on entrepreneurship. I’ve always had a passion for crafts spirits. There weren’t any crafts distilleries in Boston at the time. So, I decided to create one. Starting in the second year of the program, I was working on GrandTen’s business plan. I graduated in 2010 and started the company with my cousin Spencer.
One of my proudest moments was
winning Boston's Best award.
I’m always excited when I see people wearing GrandTen merchandise around town. I get emails from people who visited Boston, bought our spirits to take home, really enjoyed them, and looking to buy more. I tell them unfortunately we are only available in New England and they need to return to Boston to stock up.
The inspiration behind GrandTen's products
My family has a history of hobby alcohol production. My grandfather made wine.
My father makes beer. It was a natural progression into spirits. Beer and wine are limited on what and how flavors can be created since they are made from grains and grapes. Spirits are an open ocean, so many flavor paths to explore and create. We experiment often and we are driven by our inspiration for the product.
All of our products are produced in very small batches and distilled in copper. Every step, from choosing the raw ingredients to bottling and labeling, is done by hand.
Wire Works American Gin
Our flagship product, Wire Works American Gin, celebrates the history of the famous South Boston iron foundry that occupied the space where we now distill. It is one of the first products we created. Wire Works is more balanced compared to a traditional London dry gin. There are spicy, citrus, floral, and juniper notes in it.
Fairly frequently, we have new limited-run products available at the distillery. Often we also have one-off whiskeys exploring different grain combinations or fermentation techniques.
Metrobi enabled us to connect with our customers.
Our products are sold at about 500 locations, around Northeast, Maryland, and DC area. It is mostly liquor stores but there are some restaurants and bars.
With Metrobi, we’re now doing home deliveries in the Greater Boston area.
Why GrandTen Distilling delivers with Metrobi
Our criteria for a delivery solution were trustworthiness, customer service, and timely deliveries. Metrobi has met our needs.
We didn’t need to go through the process of hiring a driver and have the delivery operations built. Metrobi had the process ready for us, and it is scalable.
It was pretty easy to start delivering with Metrobi. The delivery dashboard is easy to use and onboarding was straightforward.
